GT has invited The Collective Studio to show a salon hang of their work.
The Collective Studio is a graduate development programme, supporting creative graduates from September 2017 – September 2018. The Collective Studio is a collaboration between Newcastle University’s Institute for Creative Arts Practice (NICAP) and The NewBridge Project.
The Collective Studio follows an educational philosophy that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning, preparing individuals for an uncertain and rapidly changing future. The year-long, cross-disciplinary programme offers graduates subsidised shared studio and workspace, helping generate a supportive and dedicated community of visual artists, performers, makers, writers, architects, filmmakers, photographers, musicians and curators. Graduates have access to professional practice workshops led by leaders in their respective fields, and peer-led events, such as workshops, talks, field-trips, performances, exchanges, one-to-one sessions and discussion groups will take place.
The background of which is Kate Liston's installation 'Ushering In.' Using wall painting, text and gliding corner chairs Kate Liston has transformed/ will transform GOLDTAPPED gallery in response to the history, location and present day use of Carliol House, the building in which The NewBridge Project is situated.
