Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne Rebecca Gavigan and Victoria McDermott began their collaborative practice in 2016 alongside their ongoing individual research and practices. Their mediums question the parameters of sculpture, drawing and painting through action based interventions.

Dimples Format Two is a site specific installation made to coincide with the showcase of Goldtapped gallery. The piece is part of an ongoing series of performative enquiries that touches upon monotonous actions in varying physical scales and time scales. This physical engagement between material and performer blurs the boundary between object as action and action as object. Over the course of the exhibition the artists will be ‘opening up the space’ by piercing fabricated PVC thresholds. In the moment of their temporary position, these plastic screens are a superfluous architecture in flux. Its surface will be meticulously punctured back into a fenestration through the gallery space.
